Chinese PV industry Letter: Trina Solar announces 800 W tandem solar module

The National Key Laboratory of PV science and technology of Trina Solar says that the new Perovskite-Polysilicon Tandemmodule 808 W has reached peak power in TÜV Süd tests.

Trina Solar‘s National Key Laboratory of PV Science and Technology said that the newly developed Perovskiet-Polysilicon Tandemmodule achieved a peak power of 808 W achieved with tests carried out by Tüv Süd. The module, built on a 210 mm silicon wafer and with 3.1 m², is the first industrial standard PV module worldwide to exceed 800 W, the manufacturer said, without providing further details.

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has released the list of nominated suppliers for its 2025 Solar Module Framework -purchasing, with an estimated 9.6 GW. The tender includes six segments: 9.4 GW of tunneloxide-passivated contact (topcon) modules (segments one to four), 100 MW in contact (BC) modules (Segment five) and 100 MW of heterojunction (HJT) modules (Segment six). Among the 20 selected suppliers – including Longi Green Energy, Trina Solar, Jinkosolar and Risen Energy – Longi received the highest score in five segments, while Risen led Energy in the HJT segment. According to the CNPC Framework Agreement, all suppliers stated are eligible for orders during the implementation of the project.

Xinzi Opto -Electronics technology has submitted a first public offer (IPO) to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to state on the Nasdaq. The Hangzhou-based manufacturer of solar-kidney film is planning to issue 1.5 million shares for a price range of $ 4 to $ 6 per share, aimed at a maximum of $ 8 million. In the middle of the range, the market rating of Xinzi is projected to $ 83 million. Founded in 2016, the company produces Inkapselingsfilms for photovoltaic modules, including transparent and white ethylene vinylacetate (EVA), polyolefinelastomer (POE) and ethylene propylene lake (EPE) films.

Xinyi -Glas has announced an investment of $ 700 million in a production facility for solar glass in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (Sczone) in Egypt. The project, which is developed in two phases, will produce 1.5 million tonnes of solar glass and 1.1 million tons of high pure quartz sand. Xinyi said that the majority of the output will be exported, to support solar markets in the Middle East and the Mediterranean regions.
