Chile’s Economic Development Agency Corfo has selected three companies – two Chinese and one Spanish – to build the production facilities of Electrolyzer in the country. The projects, set up to start with operations against mid -2026, will put together alkaline and proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzers from 50 kW to 5 MW.

The Beijing Sinohyenergy Project will compile Alkaline electrolyzers with capacities of 2.5 MW and 5 MW, while the Chinese Guofuhee, via his Brazilian subsidiary, Alkaline Electrolyzers will build between 100 kW and 1 MW and Proton -Exchange Membraan. The Spanish Consortium Joltechsolutions plans to develop Electrolyzer, ranging from 100 kW to 1 MW in the Biobío region. Corfo said the projects should start with the activities in mid -2026.
Aramco Has acquired an interest of 50% in the Jubail -based Blue Hydrogen Industrial Gases Co. (BHIG), which is aimed at producing low -carbon hydrogen from natural gas, while carbon dioxide is captured and stored. The company said It is expected that BHIG will start commercial activities in coordination with Aramco’s Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) activities in Jubail. Air Products Quadra, a joint venture in between air products and Saudi-qura energy established in the US, retains the remaining interest of 50%.

The program supports electrification, hydrogen, CCS, carbon collection and use (CCU) and energy efficiency measures. The committee said Eligible companies in sectors such as chemicals, plaster and glass must reduce emissions within three years and 90% by 60% at the end of the project.
