The French solar module manufacturer Carbon has obtained € 2 million from 11 IPPs and two consultancy firms.

These investors – including CVE Group, Iel, Irisolaris, Langa International, Provence Energie, Sépale, Silversun, Synapsun, Technique Solaire, Terre et Lac and Wege – jointly represent almost 4 GW operational projects and 1.3 GW planned projects for 2025.

“Their mobilization reflects a strong signal from the industry and marks a decisive step in building a strong and sovereign European solar industry,” Carbon said.

The startup is also launching a crowdfunding campaign on the Enerfip platform on 2 April. The two -week campaign is intended to raise € 1 million, with a potential to reach € 2.5 million. The campaign is open to residents in France and sets a minimum investment of € 10.

“This is the first time that an industrial project of this size has opened its capital to the general public. This citizen financing therefore reflects a real urge for renewable energy and a requirement of the population to actively participate in the re -industrialization of the country,” said Carbon Managing Director Nicolas Chandellier said PV Magazine France.

The bond issue by Terre & Lac Industrie (Teli) will help finance the creation of Carbon One, an assembly factory of 500 MW. After the failed acquisition of Photowatt, it is expected that carbon will announce the location of the factory in June 2025, probably near Marseille-Fos. The facility, which starts in June 2026, will serve as a launch platform for the Gigafactory, which is intended to reach 3.5 GW by 2027-28, including 5 GW of cells.

The total investment for the project is expected to be € 1.7 billion, with 50% financed by debts, 25% by national and European subsidies and the remaining part per equity.
