The Swedish solar association Svensk -Solenergi has emphasized various structural obstacles for connecting batteries to the schedule in Sweden.

The Association’s Battery storage grid connection Report, invoiced as the first important assessment of the regulations for connecting batteries with the Swedish electricity grid, says that the hesitation of electricity grid companies to fully integrate batteries delays the expansion of the production of renewable electricity.

The battery capacity of Sweden has risen from 80 MW to 610 MW in 2024, but there is a capacity shortage in the local electricity grid in some parts of the country, which means that some grid companies have long rows for connecting batteries, which sometimes leads to the fact that the storage is refused.
