VK reaches 117GWH from approved Bess projects

The planning permission was awarded to Bess projects of a total of 1,590 MW/3,179MWH capacity last month, which means that the UK has now approved a total of approximately 55.4 GW/117GWH.

That is according to the latest data from Solar Media Market Research’s’Battery storage: UK Pipeline & Completed Assets Database ‘Report.

The amount of battery energy storage system (BESS) pipeline with planning stamping is an increase of approximately 5% on the 52.3GW/111.5GWH at the end of MarchWhich itself was an increase of around 5% on the 50.2GW/106.2GWH at the end of Januarysee the data.

Large projects that received permission from the planning last month are a 200 MW/400MWH Bess from Onpath Energy and a 456 MW project from Gresham House (shown above), both in Scotland, reported for the first time Solar -Energy Portal.
