Today the city of Fresno Dept. or Public Utilities (DPU) in California A ceremony “Flip the Switch” performed to celebrate the completion of solar energy and battery storage projects at three locations: the Fresno-Clovis Regional waste water abnormality advertisement commercial facility and the southerneastern surface-watering facility facility. All three projects contain single-axis solar trackers. With a combined 27 MWDC In size (and 5.3 MWAC of storage), the DPU projects are expected to save more than $ 122 million in Ratepayer dollars by 2045.

The crown jewel of the portfolio is the 19.6-MW solar system and 2.3 MW storage system at the regional waste water ability of Fresno-Clovis, which is assumed to be the largest commercial solar and battery system in the United States to date.
The city of Fresno DPU developed its solar and storage portfolio behind the meter in collaboration with Anterior strength. The portfolio was built by local trade union work of the Ibew Local 100, which created 120 local jobs in the process.
“I am so proud of this extraordinary achievement that Fresno puts on the map and honor our dedication to build a sustainable Fresno,” said Mayor Jerry Dyer. “Feeding these city -wide projects and DPU with renewable energy is a facet of the extensive plan of the city to lower our energy costs, to secure critical infrastructure and to increase our environmental duration. By ratifying this mass renewable energy portfolio to support our public utilities, Fresno shows the rest of the country.”
“We are honored to work with the city of Fresno to realize their visionary energy plan,” said Dr. Ruben Fontes, CEO of Forefront Power. “The DPU sites are unique in their scale and their impact. By generating and storing clean power on location, DPU reduces its dependence on valuable grid electricity and can return these savings to Ratepayers. Moreover, the batteries installed at any location that are always available to feed the essential infrastructure.”
The DPU zonne and storage portfolio has been developed without prior costs for the city and can be used without bond funds. According to the conditions of a 20-year-old PPA with the city, Forefront Power maintains the solar and storage portfolio that developed for DPU. For the next 20 years, DPU’s advanced capacity will charge a fixed, under-market rate for electricity, and DPU will achieve the budget security by preventing the utilizations. The Power Power will continue to operate and maintain the DPU Zonne and Storage Portfolio for the duration of the PPA, without costs for DPU.

With the DPU portfolio after completion, the city of Fresno is well on its way to reach a national milestone: organizing the largest on-site, multi-campus solar energy and battery storage portfolio in the United States. In addition to the DPU portfolio, Forefront Power recently completed solar energy systems at various other locations in the city: the Fresno Animal Center, Fire Station 18 and the Southeast Police Police.
In the future, Forefront Power is working on developing extra combined solar energy and battery storage systems in the new terminal building of the Fresno Yosemite International Airport and the parking garage for airports, and a solar energy system at the fax (Fresno Express) bus yard & vacpoyee.
“When you visit the DPU sites, the enormous size of this new solar and storage activa is impressive to see,” added Mayor Dyer. “We are grateful to the power of Forefront for their continuous support in developing assets of world -class renewable energy and the stimulation of job growth in the city of Fresno. We are also grateful for the local jobs created and our local trade union workers at Ibewe Local 100 for their tireless work in the construction of these systems, and changing the systems, and changing the systems, and changing the systems, and changing and beafon, and changing and beafon, and in the construction of these systems, and to the construction of these systems, and together, and in the construction of these systems, and to the construction of these systems, and together, and in the construction of these systems, and Beafon. Economic nebulidity. “
The city of Fresno has stored its assets for solar energy and battery by using the aggregated purchasing program for renewable energy. The REAP program is managed by Spurr, a joint powers that focuses on helping the public sector in California and reducing the costs of utilities. Reap offers buyers of the public sector in advance negotiated contracts, leading prices and standardized conditions. Through the integrated RFP process and the PPA of Reap, the city of Fresno selected for the power of the foreground to develop, finance and construct its solar energy and energy storage portfolio.
