Sunrun today introduced a solution for solar energy and batteries that is designed to adapt to the changing energy needs of customers – Sunrun Flex.

Sunrun

Flex is a smarter way to design solar energy for houses with protection against increased energy consumption against life events, such as growing a family or buying an electric vehicle. Customers enjoy a predictable monthly minimum payment, while only paying for extra energy above their pre-solar consumption basis when they use it with a low, locked flex speed.

Flex -households also benefit from batteryback -up during malfunctions and the exclusive opportunity to earn Sunrun Rolover Credits -a new offer and probably the first of its kind in the solar industry.

“Sunrun Flex is a game-changing innovation that is customer-first in all aspects,” said Sunrun CEO Mary Powell. “Customers appreciate the peace of mind that comes from the removal of guesswork and knowing that they can bend their consumption, depending on their energy style, while also offer protection for those hot summer months when consumption increases naturally.”

Solar systems at home are usually designed to correspond to the current energy consumption of a household or to be too large pending future needs – possibly resulting in unfulfilled needs as energy consumption increases or generates solar energy that is not used immediately. Flex removes any uncertainty and offers a solution that fits the needs of families now and in the future.

With Flex, customers have costs predictability and they enjoy affordable monthly payments with the possibility of “bending” their energy consumption as life, while they know exactly what their costs will be per kilowatt hour. Customers will also earn credits when they use less energy than their basin line and that can apply credits when they use more energy in the future. This allows customers to be able to bank credits during months of less energy demand and apply them later when they exceed their basic line.

Sunrun Flex is supplied as standard with battery storage, so that most houses offer full back -up energy protection during malfunctions and customers to avoid peak utensils by using stored solar energy in the evening. Flex -customers are also registered in Sunrun’s Grid Services programs (virtual power plants) and are compensated for participation where available.

Each Sunrun Flex subscription includes 24/7 Systeemmonitoring, free maintenance and repairs, solar performance and warranty for the health of the battery and flex guarantee, which ensures that a customer will pay no more Sunrun than the panels that produce annually.

“We know households that increase their energy consumption in the first year by about 15% on solar energy. It is also not uncommon for solar customers to assume an electric vehicle, which yields their energy consumption even more,” said Sunrun President and Chief Revenue Officer Paul Dickson. “Flex is designed for the future of home energy. As customers take on a more electrified lifestyle, Flex will offer them and their communities on the first day, while they unlock future income options for Sunrun.”

Sunrun Flex Systems are the size above the pre-solar use of a customer for the growing energy needs of the customer. The customer always pays a minimal monthly invoice, and if the customer exceeds his energy base line within a month, he will buy the extra electricity with a flexible rate. If the customer uses less than his energy base line in a month, he will build up Rollover credits that can be used at their flex costs in the coming months.

With Flex, Sunrun optimizes the power of solar energy to offer the customer the most benefit, whether it is immediately self -consumption, to store it in the battery for later use, or exports it to the grid so that the customer can get utility credits.

“Flex gives our peace of mind knowing that our family is being protected against rising utility accounts and that our Sunrun Flex system will grow with us,” said Sunrun Flex -customer Pete Aguilar. “Now we can make free life and upgrades to our house because we have energy available when we need it.”

The SunRun’s flex offer is exclusively for Sunrun-managed sales teams. For more information about Sunrun Flex, visit sunrun.com/flex.
