Developer of Renewable Energie Baywa.Re has a building permit for three solar developments with a combined capacity of 96.5 MW.

Dorset Council has given permission for the 30 MW Woodlands Solar PV energy plant and the 19mw North Farm Development, both located near Horton, while the Hart District Council planned for the Fleet Solar Farm, a development of 47.5 MW north of Long Sutton, Hampshire. Of all three locations, they are expected to start construction in 2027 with the intention of generating their first strength in 2028.

During their 40-year-old operational period, two of the three permission places-de 55-hectare fleet Zonneboerderij and the 40 hectares of forest farms of Woodland’s residences will serve as grazing reasons for sheep, while the 21-hectare northern farm development on the site will be planted to BOOST’s biodiversity in BOOST.

Stuart Davidson, head of project development in Baywa Re UK, said that the company was “extremely pleased to have received the green light” for the projects before he thanked local stakeholders who “proactively participated” in the consultation process prior to the requested building permit.

Baywa.Re currently has a British development fruits of more than 600 MW onshore wind, 1.4 GWP Zonin and 1.3 GW of storage projects for battery energy. In addition, the company’s business company manages more than 1.8 GW solar, ongoing wind and battery energy storage system (BESS) sites in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In September last year, the developer insured the building permit for his first Irish PV energy plant, the Spring Mount Solar Farm. The 60MWP project is located on 69 hectares of land around 7 km west of Clonmel and construction starts in 2027.

In March 2025, the company submitted an application for a presented BESS project of 500 MW in Scotland, which is set around 3 km southeast of Douglas in the South Lanarkshire region in Scotland. If approved, the Redshaw Bess consists of no fewer than 400 Bess -Containers, with biodiversity improvements, including the planting of forests that also take place on the site.

Baywa.re has also started looking for developments on a larger scale, because a final decision is waiting for approval or refusing permission for his Oaklands Solar Project, which is designated as a nationally important infrastructure project (NSIP). In March of this year, a recommendation was submitted to the State Secretary and a final decision on the granting of a development assignment (DCO) is expected in the coming months.
