Staat-Runned NPCIL has contacted Ciel & Terre about building a floating solar factory in the Kudankulam nuclear power plant (KNDPP 1 & 2) in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, India.

The selected site is a Zeewaterdijk, a shallow reservoir in nuclear power stations that separates inlet water from heated water that is discharged after cooling the steam condenser.

Ciel & Terre estimate the floating solar potential of the site at around 50 MW.
