UK Startup reveals industrial batteries based on recycled EV batteries – PV Magazine International

Allye Energy has launched two new battery storage systems that can offer 820 kW and 1.25 MW of power respectively. The systems combine up to 18 recycled EV batteries with mixed chemistry.

The VK Energy Storage Allye Energy, based in the UK, has announced two new Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for industrial applications.

Dubbeds Max1000 and Max1500, the new systems have a storage capacity of 1 MWH and 1.5 MWh, Re. The MAX1000 is now available for order, with the MAX1500 launch in the summer of 2025.

“In contrast to traditional batteries, the Megamax range combines to 18 reused EV -battery packages with mixed chemistry (LFP and NMC), which significantly reduces the footprint of the environment and at the same time improves energy diversity and reliability,” the company said. “This hybrid approach also cuts embedded carbon by more than 40% per unit, which saves up to 100 tons of CO₂e.”
