Aerocompact, manufacturer of Austrian PV mounting solutions, launched the Compactground GS 10 Plus, a new PV system mounted on the ground. The product focuses on small projects and tough terrain such as grass, agricultural land, sand, gravel, ground stone, concrete and asphalt.

“An intelligent hybrid solution consisting of ballasting and soil nails ensures fast, stable and uncomplicated installations,” the company said in a statement. “Two different nail lengths (800 mm for frost protection, 450 mm for landfills) and two ballast bins make maximum flexibility possible, depending on the scope.”

The Compactground GS 10 houses PV modules with widths from 950 mm to 1,150 mm and lengths from 1,500 mm to 2,400 mm. It is installed approximately 400 mm above the ground and supports a maximum slope of 5 degrees without soil nails and 5 degrees to 10 degrees with nails. The system is resistant to wind and snow load up to 2.4 kn/m².

“Installation only requires a few tools: the grounds are hammered with a hammer drill and can easily be moved at an angle of 30 to 60 degrees if the resistance is found. Galvanized components of hot dip ensure a high corrosion resistance, even under demanding environmental conditions,” said Aerocompact. “With the newly designed substructure, each individual module can also be attached – this saves material and increases system efficiency.”
