A representation of the new building.

Governor Tony Evers, together with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (Wedc) and company officers, announced that Yaskawa America will invest at least $ 180 million and create more than 700 new well -paid jobs in Wisconsin.

Yaskawa America experiences considerable growth that is powered by innovation in robotics, motion control, AC discs and suns. The newest investment of the company in Wisconsin will consolidate its facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin in one campus in Franklin, Wisconsin in the next eight to 10 years. The project includes moving its North -American headquarters and training facility from Waukegan, Illinois.

“I am very enthusiastic to celebrate Yaskawa’s decision to move its head office to Wisconsin and to expand its footprint here in the Badger State, with them millions of dollars in capital investments in southeastern Wisconsin and hundreds of high -quality, family -supporting jobs,” Gov. Evens. “Companies from all over the world choose Wisconsin to grow and expand because they know that we have the best employees who make the best products. Wisconsin continues to strengthen our position as a leader in advanced production, and we are happy to support this expansion and Yaskawa’s constant success in our state.”

This expansion marks an important milestone because Yaskawa Electric Corporation celebrates its 110th birthday worldwide, and Yaskawa America, Inc. celebrates 58 years of sales, innovation, production and service in the United States. The Yaskawa America Business produces industrial robots, motion control products, low and average voltage AC drives and sun starters for numerous industries, including semiconductor, solar energy, machine, automotive, HVAC, pumps, oil and gas and others.

“The Dives & Motion Division of Yaskawa America, Inc. is proud to announce the unification of all its current production and office locations in Wisconsin and Illinois in a single consolidated campus in Franklin,” said Mike Zekerek, CEO of Yaskawa America. “We are proud of our advanced technology, our dedication to quality and our world -class production, and we are looking forward to a strong future of growth and innovation in Franklin.”

Governor Evers announced that the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (Wedc) supports the project by authorizing a maximum of $ 18 million on performance -based business zone tax credits. The actual amount of the tax credits received depends on the number of jobs created and the amount of capital investments in that period.

“Yaskawa agrees with the growing selection of innovative global companies that choose to grow in Wisconsin,” said Missy Hughes, Secretary and CEO of Wedc. “With their emphasis on advanced production and advanced technology, they are perfect for our state.”

The new campus includes a head office, training and laboratory structure, production and packaging facilities, and robotics and semiconductor production activities. It will include more than 800,000 square meters, which strengthens the position of Wisconsin in advanced production. Yaskawa is the newest company investing in Franklin.

Milwaukee 7, the Regional Economic Development Organization of Zuidoost -WISCONSIN, has also helped with the expansion of the company.

“We are delighted that Yaskawa Zuidoost-Wisconsin has opted for the expansion and the new location of the North American head office,” said Gale Klappa, co-chairman of Milwaukee 7 and chairman of the Board of Directors of WEC Energy Group. “This exciting investment – announced today – is proof of the strengths of the region in automation and advanced production.”
