Tesla to build the first grid scale in China

Tesla announced on Friday that it signed an agreement to build its first Power Station Project project on the Grid scale on the mainland of China.

The project will help with the flexible adjustment of network sources and “effectively resolve the pressure with regard to urban power supply,” Tesla said in a post to the Chinese social media platform Weibo.

“After completion, this project is expected to be the largest energy storage project on the Rasters in China,” Tesla added.

Such energy storage systems help improve stability in the electricity grid at a time when there are more solar energy and wind energy.

The Chinese Media -Outlet Yicai reported that Tesla Shanghai, Shanghai Authorities and China Kangfu International Leasing Co. On Friday a signing ceremony held for the project.

It added that the deal of investments of 4 billion Yuan ($ 560 million) included.

The contract comes at a time of tension between Washington and Beijing, with the two parties who have excluded a trade agreement in the long term after rates announced by President Donald Trump.

China and the United States negotiated earlier this month after two days of marathon conversations about a “framework” agreement in London.
