On July 9, InensEnergy announced that the 250 MW Fairbanks Solar Energy Center in Sullivan County, Indiana, started commercial activities. Inventerty led the development and construction of the facility, which was taken over by Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO).

“We are proud to work with NIPCO and the local community to bring Fairbanks Solar Online-the first of several projects developed by Invennergie in Sullivan County,” said Michael Kaplan, Senior VP Development of InensEnergy. “Indiana leads the Future of Energy Handling with a diverse mix of energy technologies – strengthening the power network and the local economy.”

Fairbanks Solar offers sufficient electricity to provide electricity to more than 50,000 American houses and companies and supported nearly 275 local jobs during construction. InensEnergy Services offers operations, maintenance and factory services for the facility, with four full -time employees. The facility will also invest more than $ 125 million in the local community of Sullivan County during its lifetime.

“By bringing increased investments and financing to Sullivan County, the Inventry projects enable us to finance provincial services and better serve the local community,” said Bob Davis, commissioner of Sullivan County. “I am encouraged to see Sullivan County play a greater role in Indiana’s energy leadership.”

Fairbanks Solar is the second solar facility of InensEnergy in Indiana.
