Nex trackerA provider for solar tracker and related technologies has launched a new initiative for artificial intelligence and robotics. In the past year, the company has invested more than $ 40 million to acquire three AI and robotics technologies. These acquisitions build on the end-to-end digital platform of NexTracker for the implementation of solar energy plants.

NexPracker acquired Onsight technology, an autonomous robot inspection and fire detection system for solar energy plants. The AI-driven Tools from Onsight use predictive maintenance by identifying and predicting common mechanical and electrical disruptions, so that assets are reducing the operational risk, improving uptime and managing the health of the site. The Robotics team of Onsight, Field Operations specialists and product developers have joined Nextracker and Onsight products are now commercially available in the United States with a global rollout for next year.

“Participating in Nexpracker is an exciting new chapter for Onsight technology,” said Derek Chase, CEO of Ongeight. “From the first day it was our mission to bring advanced robotics and intelligence into the tanning field. Together with Nexpracker, we can deliver smarter diagnostics to improve response time, reduce the risk and strengthen ROI.”

NEXTRacker also announced two previously unknown related acquisitions:

  • Sensehawk IP (August 2024): IP that creates 3D cards with high resolution of solar project sites using AI-enabled drone images. The maps support geolocation and digital model alignment for site -input and integrates with optimization software such as Truecapture®.
  • Amir Robotics (March 2025): developer of a lightweight, anhydrous robot -like cleaning technology that is designed for daily operation on large -scale solar stands. This solution will be integrated into the existing data infrastructure of NEXTRacker to reduce soil -related yield loss and is currently being tested at various commercial locations.

“Integrating robotics and AI into the technology platform of Nexpracker is a smart move,” said Sheldon Kimber, CEO of Intersect Power. “We were early adopters of the robot inspection technology of Onsight and are of the opinion that Nexpracker has the expertise and global footprint to scale up these types of products and services to multi-gigawatt implementation levels.”
