President Donald Trump has one New Executive Order Today the imposition of steep land -wide rates for India because the country continues to buy oil from Russia. Trump said he will install similar rates for other countries that buy Russian oil. The president is of the opinion that the continuous war actions of Russia in Ukraine threaten US national security and foreign policy, and reducing support for Russian oil production will weaken the Russian economy.

The US government will impose a rate of 25% on imports from India, with effect from 27 August 2025. The rates are a supplement to other rates, including the mutual rate of 25% imposed on India under the April 2 Executive Order.

The US International Trade Court (ITC) and De Dept. Whether Commerce (DOC) is also investigating whether the import of the solar panel from India is unfair priced or subsidized. The Alliance for American Solar Manufacturing and Tradewho has submitted a petition for the AD/CVD investigation, has identified a dump margin of 213.96%.

With at least a general rate of 50% on all Indian goods and possibly more for solar input, solar cells and panels from the country could rise in costs very quickly. India is currently the sixth largest importer of solar panels to the United States and the eighth largest country for imports of solar cells.
