The subsidiary of Jinkosolar, Shangrao Jinko Xinyuan Yuedong, has brought a lawsuit in the Munich division of the Unified Patent Court, who accuses Longi Green Energy and several of his European subsidiaries of infringing the European Patent EP3297043.

The patent, originally owned by the LG in Zuid -Korea, relates to a solar cell structure based on “selective doping of the passenger layer” -a technology that Jinko has acquired in recent years through the strategic purchase of LG’s solar patent assets.

The case focuses on Longi’s Premium BC Solar Module lines-Hi-MO 7, Hi-MO 9 and X10 signaling of Jinko’s shift in Focus of previous disputes about tunnel oxide Passivated Contact (Topcon) technology to the increasingly competitive BC segment.

This is Jinko’s second lawsuit against Longi in Germany this year. On February 14, Jinko submitted his first uniform patent -law action with regard to patent EP4372829B1, which is related to Topcon.

Although Longi has not publicly responded to the latest BC-related accusations, it has begun to reduce. On July 21, the company presented the invalidity of the Topcon patent in February with the Unified Patent Court. Media reports also suggest that Longi initiated counter suits in China, with the help of patents it has purchased from Mitsubishi Electric.

In January, Jinkosolar also brought a lawsuit to Longi on the use of a non -specified Topcon sun cell technology at the Nanchang Intermediate People’s Court in China.

At the beginning of December 2024, Jinkosolar had a lawsuit infringement in the competitor Vsun, a unit of the Japanese Fujisolar, in the American court for the northern district of California. Jinkosolar said that the VSUN and his American affiliated companies are complaining, but the patent that was involved in the dispute did not announce.
