ENGER Energy says that the Chinese export market for solar energy shifts as more diverse worldwide supply chains drive higher cell and waffle shipments, so that this year combined solar product capacity is canceled by 11% despite the export of a lower panel.

The export of solar cells and Zonnewafer from China increased considerably in the first half of the year, according to analysis of the London Energy, established in London Energy.

Figures from those of the company Online Data -Tool Shows the export of solar cells increased by 76% during the first six months of 2025, equal to 19 GW capacity, while the export of the solar wafer rose by 26%, equal to 8.6 GW.

The increase means that the combined solar product capacity of China in the first half was 11% higher than during the same period in 2024, despite a decrease in the export of solar panels.

ENGERY Energy also said that solar cells and waffles are now more than 40% of the Chinese export of the solar product. Solar cells formed 22% of export alone in the period of January-June-Hun’s highest share to date.

The drive in the export of solar cells is led by India, Indonesia and Turkey, which together are 75% of the cell version from China in the first six months of this year.

Only India has contributed to 52% of the increase of the year in the year that the cell version is. ENGERY Energy noted that India quickly builds its domestic panel and cell production industry. With its panel production capacity that surpasses cell capacity, the country is currently highly dependent on celermort to feed its panel factories.

The import of the solar cells of India doubled almost in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period last year, rising from 11 GW to 21 GW. Ember said that Wafer’s input from China is also speeding up to support cell production.

The export of the solar panel from China is stagnating for the first time since the general board of the Customs Republic of China in 2022 began to report separately and the export of cells.

ENGER Energy said that the export of the cumulative panel in the first six months of 2025 fell by 5.2%, equal to 6.7 GW less capacity. The think tank attributed the decline to stock recording and delay in the installations in Europe and Brazil.

Matt Ewan, analysts of energy systems for Ember Energy, said that the export of cells and wafer “make up more than the stagnation” in the Chinese export of the panel. “To understand the growing global solar supply chain, it is now crucial to follow products upstream of panels,” Ewan added. “India stimulates the growth of the cell output, while panels now have to find new markets to go.”

The last analysis of the think tank adds that since August 2022 the price of exported solar cells from China has fallen by $ 0.16/W from $ 0.19/W to $ 0.03/W. In the same period, the price of exported solar panels from China has fallen by $ 0.20/w, from $ 0.29/W to $ 0.09/W.

‘More than 50% of the rough costs of Chinese solar panels is now contributed by components other than solar cells, such as glass -oriented and the aluminum edge, “said Eners Energy.
