Japanese electronics and production company Mitsubishi Electric and Ireland-based heating and cooling specialist EVHACs jointly offer an integrated heat pump and electric vehicle (EV) charger.

The two companies claim that the new solution is the world’s first integrated system.

“With the integrated system, homeowners, ownership developers and commercial operators can simplify their infrastructure by combining two vital energy technologies in one,” said Mitsubishi in a statement. “This results in reduced installation complexity, faster deployment, lower total system costs and minimal impact on building aesthetics.”

The Heat Pump technology comes from Mitsubishi’s Ecodan, Mr. Slim and M Heat Pump Series, which EVHACS has been adapted for integration with the EV charger.

“EVHACS’s own technology transforms the award -winning heat pumps and air conditioning units of Mitsubishi Electric into double purposes without compromising performance or efficiency,” the company said. “Integration supports the charging of AC and is designed to work seamlessly within home energy management systems.”

The EV charger is available in two version-one-phases 7.4 KW system or a 3-phase 22 KW device. It has a bound charging cable that is attached directly to the heat pump, whereby the manufacturer offers an extra 10 cm x 10 cm connection box with the bound charging cable without jeopardizing the aesthetics of a house.

The system is said to offer efficient dynamic load balancing, while the management of the demand-side and future smart grid applications is supported.

The package comes standard with a warranty of 1 year and a 3-year warranty with service package.
