Ja Solar has launched Desertblue, a 650 W tunnel oxide passivated contact (Topcon) module for Desert PV projects, with self-cleaning glass, reinforced frames and heat tolerant design with desert-specific certification.

Ja Solar has introduced Desertblue, a photovoltaic module series designed for large projects mounted on the land in desert, gobi and dry regions.

The launch in Beijing brought together technical institutions and developers, including Inner Mongolia Electric Power Survey & Design Institute and ACWA Power, together with certification authorities Tüv Rheinland, TÜV Süd and CCIC.

Yes Solar said that Woestijnblue tackles four important operational risks in sandy environments: the pollution of fine particles that reduce the transmission, gross grain protection that speeds up the aging of the film, high wind loads that reduce stress module stress and extreme ambient temperatures.

The modules are aimed at a maximum of 650 W nameplate with a peak conversion -efficiency of 24%.

Ja Solar highlights four performance pillars. Firstly, a nano-scale self-cleaning coating with dense microstructures and anti-static properties reduces dust adhesion, so that wind fabrics are cleaned; The loss of light transmittance is more than 32% lower than conventional module glass.

Secondly, sustainability and wear resistance are increased, with at least an increase of 32% in reliability statistics, an extension of the service-life from three to five years, and reinforced film hardness loss by 14% under heavy sand exposure.

Thirdly, mechanical resilience is improved through structural reinforcement and a strongly strong steel frame, which provides 6000 PA front and 4000 PA loading reviews on the back than 60% higher than standard designs while the guidance frame reduces the requirements of the grounding and the associated emissions.

Fourth, the performance of high temperature has improved: a temperature coefficient of –0.28%/° C combined with the higher open circuit voltage of top concells is expected to elevate the energy yield by 0.5-0.6% at 50 ° C transformed environment and 75-85 ° C-Module-Opera-Module-Opera-Module-Operati In dusty conditions it is claimed that the operating temperature of the module is falling by approximately 5 ° C, equal to approximately 1.5% extra yield.

JA SOLAR CHANGED WHEN EXHAUNCONOMY. In the construction, the steel frame and the grounding schedule can lower in advance by $ 0.0004/W, with a lower cleaning robot capital needs of $ 0.006/W in China and $ 0.004/W in the Middle East. In operations, a 100 MW desert plant with the help of manual dry-brush cleaning can halve the cleaning frequency, which saves $ 34,000 a year and $ 0.84 million over 25 years; Robot cleaning OPEX in 25 years could be reduced by $ 0.98 million in Northwest China and $ 0.76 million in the Middle East. Energy yield was reported 4.49% higher than conventional modules at the Mengneng Ulan BUH project.

Desertblue-modules earned the first certification “Desert Module” from TÜV Rheinland, the resisting of extreme UV, thermal, sandy, wear and cleaning tests. Tüv Süd confirmed the sustainability through 11,000 robot cleaning cycles and hard substance exposure, which is at least (<1%) loss of power and no structural damage.

Stakeholders from the industry said that the “15th five-year plan” of China desert base and sandy grounds in the Middle East and Africa increases performance requirements as a frequent cleaning and arch control rise. Yes Solar Positioned Desertblue as a desert -specific solution that combines design and certification for these markets.
