The Luxembourg Ministry of Economic Affairs has opened a new €3 million tender to support C&I solar projects from 30 kW to 200 kW. Companies have until April 17 to submit applications.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs opened the tender on February 16 and offered investment support to support companies developing PV systems with capacities between 30 kW and 200 kW. The financing will be awarded through a competitive bidding process based on the criteria set out in the tender specifications.

The initiative follows the commitments made during the national consultation “Einfach – Séier – Erneierbar” (Simple – Easy – Renewable) and aims to strengthen the existing Luxembourg support framework for PV. The intended capacity range is suitable for small and medium-sized enterprises, especially for installations on industrial roofs, facades and parking garages.

The scheme also encourages companies to maximize the value of on-site generation through self-consumption, energy sharing and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Projects that include battery storage will receive more support to reflect the higher investment costs.

The tender is divided into three lots, each with subcategories for projects with or without storage:

  • Lot 1: PV systems larger than 30 kW and up to 200 kW on roofs or sites in business parks

  • Lot 2: Innovative PV systems of more than 30 kW and up to 200 kW on buildings, including lightweight roof modules or facades

  • Lot 3: PV systems larger than 30 kW and maximum 200 kW installed on carports

The tender specifications can be downloaded from February 16 on Guichet.lu. The ministry is organizing two free webinars for applicants: February 26 in English and March 3 in French.

In May 2025, Luxembourg committed to 51 measures to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy. In November, the government approved the installation of solar energy systems along highways and bypasses.
