Re+, the largest stock exchange of the American solar industry, and the first since the Trump administration is HR1, has packed this year. Although no official number has yet been released, Abigail Ross Hopper, CEO and President of the Solar Energy Industries Association, that the event had signed more than 35,000 present from Wednesday and broke its record for the number of exhibitors. So, despite policy changes that have caused a wave of high-profile closures and a significant reduction in the expected domestic project pipeline, the American solar industry was still published in Las Vegas this week.
I wrote about the stretching and assembly technologies in Solar Power World Almost seven years, and much of my time at trade fairs is spent talking to people from those companies. This year was no different. I met more than 30 of them for two days.
Racking and increasing manufacturers, such as the rest of the American solar industry, configure their approach again for a post-Ira market. There is a shift in the sale of PV technology using stimuli and instead, independent economic attraction can be promoted in an era of rising energy prices.
Racking producers in the commercial and utility room still enjoy some time with the investment tax credit, while residential manufacturers are confronted with a narrower window before it is gone.
Collect
There is an immediate demand for solar energy among homeowners, because the residential ITC ends at the end of this year. In response, many residential racks concentrated on presenting what they had in stock for these projects during the show instead of reinventing their products.
Snapnrack Has locked its product prices until the end of the quarter to remain cost -competitive while the subsidy remains. “Zonne must be a necessity, regardless of whether you get a stimulus,” said Dakota Dominguez, senior marketing manager at Snapnrack.
However, residential racks is not a stagnant technology. There were still new ideas for these solar structures on the roof.
Martin Solar Dual-Channel Solar Rail
Martin SolarA subsidiary of the 50-year-old Martin Roofing produces roof confirmations that attach themselves to an asphalt gravel along the lip with glue that are hidden under the advancing gravel flap. The company has started producing dual-channel solar rail, which is designed to accommodate system frame, separated from other components on the array while retaining cable access for maintenance.
Unirac NXT HD Rail
Unirac His NXT HD -Rail, a reinforced mounting rail that, in addition to increasing the riding span by 2.5 ft (up to 10.5 ft total), has a greater resistance to wind pressure and is better suited for larger modules. NXT HD scales in commercial applications and Unirac now produces the Rail for public use.
Many of the larger racking companies on the roof serve both the residential and commercial markets, and some work exclusively in the first plan to expand.
Commercial opportunities
Federal subsidies remain intact for the commercial and utility markets up to and including 2027, so the urge to sell as much as possible within that time frame is not as urgent as in residential. So, companies that traditionally worked in residential people look at the commercial.
Pegasus FX
This year Pegasus unveiled its first commercial solar racking, FX, on re+ this year. To this point, the company had produced mounts and strictly stretching for residential. FX is a flat roof that is designed to work in East-West-, south-facing or flushing system layouts. The system is only confirmed immediately and is tested to resist up to 180 MPH wind.
PanelClaw ClickFit Tilt
Opsun Sunrail
Three companies that I have met produce raised solar racking for commercial roofs. Isa Corporation Has made these structures since 2010 with the aim of leaving sufficient public fire access, reaching the roof line and living obstacles from the roof, such as HVAC systems. Although not that long, but still higher than most, Quota And Panel Both presented raised flat roof that was designed to erase roof obstacles and encourage bifacial modules.
Tracker Company extensions
The product progress among Tracker manufacturers largely focuses on the same problems: weather spread (mainly hail) and building on uneven project locations. The larger updates of these companies are that they branch to components of buildings and complementary services at their own or acquired level.
NexTracker Powermerge
Nex trackerThe newest product was not a tracker at all, but a prefabricated, simplified trunk connector for managing cable runs. The company went public last week with NX Powermerge, sandwiched between acquisition announcements from both origami Solar, a manufacturer of steel frame for PV modules and Onsight Technology, which launched an O&M Robotics Division.
Array Technologies Has the Foundations Market entered into by acquiring APA Solar Racking. Darin Green, CRO at Array, said that both companies had previously worked on projects, and because the tracker manufacturer focuses on new areas, APAThe foundations will help with harder soil conditions.
Terrace
Terrace Produces land-mount racking, solar rackers and ground screw unations for those structures, and maintains a series of electric balance of system and project design technologies. Terrasmart has expanded its EBOS offer with a connection box with built-in windows for infrared values and electric test ports, and both are accessible without opening the box.
Omco Star Tracker -Controller
Omco Solar Produces fixed tilt racking and trackers in its five American factories. The company showed its Star Tracker controller last year, which has now come on the market. Star is a long-distance tracker controller with an increased working range of one mile, which drastically reduces the number of required controller units on a project.
