GoodHeat, part of Chinese inverter and battery manufacturer GoodWe, has introduced a new line of heat pump boilers for residential use.

“Our new heat pump boiler is designed to be powered by photovoltaic energy,” a company spokesperson said pv magazine. “It features MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology to optimize self-consumption of solar energy.”

The IPX4 rated units measure 790mm x 312mm x 565mm and use R134a refrigerant with a global warming potential (GWP) of 1,430. They are offered in three models with water tanks of 200 L, 300 L and 500 L.

The smallest model, the GHWVSHST-200CA1, delivers a heating power of 4.5 kW, with a power consumption of 1 kW, a nominal current of 5.2 A and a coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.25. The medium and large models, GHWVSHST-300CA1 and GHWVSHST-500CA1, offer a heating power of 5 kW, a power consumption of 1.1 kW, a nominal current of 5.6 A and a COP of 4.20.

All three models have an optimal PV input voltage range of 100–190 V and a maximum input current of 18 A. The noise level is only 52 dB(A) and the water heaters can produce an outlet water temperature of up to 75 C.

“The MPPT function enables a solar energy conversion rate of up to 99.9%, providing a stable hot water supply 24 hours a day,” the spokesperson added.
