Ocean 2 offers a more versatile, large-scale and expandable modular home storage solution, capable of handling both small and large solar PV inputs.

EcoFlow’s new residential-focused energy storage series is the Ocean 2, which offers useful and measurable improvements over the previous series for interested homeowners and installers.

The three-phase Ocean 2 was on display in Berlin at an event for media and installers and was discussed via a technical presentation by Kevin Benedict, EcoFlow technical sales specialist, who detailed the system and its improvements compared to the previous PowerOcean and PowerOcean plus residential storage options.

For the avoidance of doubt, Ocean 2 remains an installer-only product as it is a three-phase and robust option for households, although EcoFlow sells a range of batteries and systems directly to consumers.

In terms of price, the products themselves have trade and wholesale prices. Therefore, quotes for a system installation depend on the location, existing and required wiring and switchboards, along with the options for connecting to an existing or new PV system. Using Ocean 2 as a standalone battery and tapping into dynamic rates is also an option. Prices between installers can also vary significantly, with more established installers often quoting higher prices than smaller installers, while offering more support and service for installed systems.

Many elements of the three-phase Ocean 2 are similar to the single-phase version of Ocean 2 that was launched Key Remini in Italy in March.
