New data from global energy consultancy Rystad Energy shows that all Australian large-scale solar power plants generated 1,730 GWh of clean energy last month, a 21% increase on the 1,435 GWh produced in April 2025, with Queensland hosting three of the top five performing utility PV installations for the month.
The 204MW Edenvale solar parkco-owned by Japanese companies Eneos and Sojitz, was this month ranked as Australia’s best-performing large PV facility by Rystad Senior Analyst David Dixon noticing the power plant had delivered an average AC capacity factor (CF) of 33.1% this month.
Greek energy company Metka’s 82MW Moura Solar Farm ranked second this month, with the Queensland plant delivering an average capacity factor of 32.8%.
Phase 2 of Acen Australia’s 400MW Stubbo solar project in New South Wales (NSW) ranked third with a capacity factor of 32.6%, while the first phase of that project ranked fifth. Neoen’s 460MW Western Downs solar farm in Queensland ranked fourth.
Dixon said all Australian PV and wind installations generated 4.7 TWh of clean energy last month, a 24% increase from 3.8 TWh in April 2025.
At the state level Queensland ranked first with 1,256 GWh for solar and wind energy generation, of which 678 GWh came from solar energy and 578 GWh from wind energy.
The top wind assets for the month were the Granville Harbor and Cattle Hill wind farms in Tasmania, with the Kennedy Energy wind farm in Queensland in third place.
