Shoals Technologies Group new 638,000 feet2 production facility in Portland, Tennessee, officially marked its grand opening this week. The site will manufacture Shoals’ line of electronic balance of system (eBOS) products for the solar, storage and mission-critical facility industries.
“As demand for energy infrastructure continues to increase, this new mega-facility will enable Shoals to scale with our customers and meet the needs of a rapidly evolving energy landscape,” said Brandon Moss, CEO of Shoals. “By expanding our domestic manufacturing footprint and increasing capacity, we are strengthening America’s energy supply chain and enabling faster, more efficient energy deployment.”
The new manufacturing campus consolidates Shoals’ three existing facilities in Tennessee into one centralized location, significantly expanding manufacturing capacity, increasing automation in manufacturing and packaging, and leveraging operational efficiencies to support increasing demand in the energy sector.
The opening of the Mega Facility also coincides with Shoals’ 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of innovation.
When Shoals first announced the new location two years ago, the company estimated it would create 550 new jobs and bring the company’s total workforce to 1,400.
