Commercial and industrial (C&I) renewable energy developer Greenvolt Next has completed a 2.2 MW ground-mounted PV installation in Dublin.
The project, built for healthcare company Astellas, was completed in just four months, with the C&I developer carrying out the design, installation and commissioning of the ground-mounted PV plant. It will also handle operations and maintenance (O&M).
The project is designed with the ability to accommodate additional inverters and install battery energy storage on site. The solar farm currently supplies 27% of Astellas’ electricity at the Damastown factory.
According to the company, the project included sustainability measures such as large insect hotels built from reclaimed tree stumps, the installation of several bat boxes and a significant number of native Irish trees planted to promote the local ecology and support long-term biodiversity on the site.

Greenvolt Next is part of the Greenvolt Group and is active in the distributed generation sector in twelve European markets. It currently has an operational portfolio of over 405 MW, with a further 1 GW of signed capacity.
In Ireland, the developer aims to deliver 1 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 includes the construction of a 1.7 MW solar carport at Cork Airport. The project is expected to become commercially operational in two phases: the first this summer and the second phase in August 2027.
