Chinese solar company LONGi has launched its energy storage offering in the UK with the introduction of the Hi-MO One Pro and OmniCube L233 systems.
At the heart of the launch is the Hi-MO One Pro system, a 261 kWh modular hybrid storage platform that integrates five core subsystems: energy management (EMS), battery management (BMS), power conversion (PCS), thermal management and LONGi’s proprietary iCCS predictive safety technology.
According to the company, the Hi-MO One Pro is designed for applications such as peak shaving, self-consumption optimization, backup power, microgrids and hybrid PV storage configurations.
The system is available in 125 kW or 250 kW power and supports both AC and DC cabinet configurations, allowing flexible deployment in manufacturing, logistics, agriculture and large commercial buildings.
The Hi-MO One Pro platform is designed with modular scalability, allowing capacity expansion via parallel AC configurations or additional DC cabinets. Depending on the system design, LONGi says backup durations of up to 24 hours can be achieved for critical loads.
Integration of energy management and network applications
The platform uses a TÜV-certified iCCS predictive safety system, which continuously monitors battery cell behavior and tracks parameters including voltage, temperature, gas formation, valve activity, electrolyte leakage and internal resistance changes.
According to LONGi, the system can identify early-stage degradation patterns months in advance and detect abnormal gas production more than 25 minutes before critical conditions develop, in addition to valve opening indicators several minutes before potential thermal runaway scenarios.
The safety design is supported by layered safeguards including flammable gas detection, aerosol fire suppression and smoke and thermal monitoring. The platform is designed to meet NFPA 855, IEC and UL standards.
The integrated EMS is pre-configured for European grid requirements and coordinates charging, discharging and grid interaction in real time. Features include peak off-peak optimization, demand response participation, anti-export control, backup switching and remote operations management.
The EMS is directly linked to the iCCS safety layer, allowing coordinated control between operational dispatch and battery protection functions.
The company also highlighted a 63 kW MPPT input that enables direct photovoltaic integration, supporting hybrid PV storage-diesel configurations and on-site renewable energy optimization.
Modular expansion and flexibility in implementation
In addition to the flagship system, LONGi has introduced the OmniCube L233 as a space-constrained alternative for distributed C&I deployment.
OmniCube L233 delivers 232.96 kWh of storage capacity and 125 kW of output within a floor space of 1.35 m². The system uses independent cooling circuits for the battery and PCS components, maintains tight control of thermal variation and targets a service life of at least 8,000 cycles.
The company has not disclosed any UK implementation partners or initial project pipelines for the platform.
