Rivian has committed to purchasing RECs generated from 50 MW of solar energy Turn energy as well as a subscription to 10 MW of Pivot’s community solar for its Illinois manufacturing facility.
The new community solar projects are expected to generate an average of 79,000 MWh annually.
“We want to accelerate the energy transition by working with leading companies like Rivian,” says Mat Elmore of Pivot Energy.
“This marks an important step in scaling up renewables nationwide by providing a blueprint for how the automotive industry can increase its energy impact in areas that need it most.”
