Bright Feeds, a Startup -Ultup -based startup, put into use Give energyA Massachusetts Solar Contractor, to build a 300-KWDC solar system in its 25,000 square manufacturer of animal feed in Berlin, Connecticut. The 625-panel project will offer a third of the total energy of the plant.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our process that are not only logical, but also support our sustainability mission and contribute to a healthier environment,” said Jonathan Fife, CEO of Bright Feeds. “Our new PV system for solar energy promotes our mission and also offers power to our activities and lowering our monthly energy costs. Applications were great to work during the entire process, to help us navigate engineering, local permits and other necessary approvals, constant maintenance and more.”

Bright Feeds uses artificial intelligence and drying technology in its Berlin facility to convert unwanted food into a completely natural soy and corn replacement for animal food. The company serves customers in the northeast, from suppliers of pet food to dairy farms, and every year distracts tens of thousands of tons of wasted food from the waste stream of the region.

“It was excellent working with clear feeds to support the long -term sustainability of their activities,” said Andreas Schmid, VP of business development when requesting energy. “This solar project saves them more than $ 1.5 million in electricity costs during the 25-year life of the system, while contributing to their general sustainability efforts.”
