Wombat Solar, a new solar development proposed in Crawford County, took an important step back on 6 June, while Crawford County Voting for commissioning all the development of solar energy. This decision was taken despite the wishes of other local policy makers and residents who would benefit from the project. More than a hundred members of the public were present, and those who spoke to the benefit of the project exceeded those who were against one by more than three. The project, expected to be 400 MW, promises substantial economic benefits for Crawford County, including millions of new tax revenues for schools and infrastructure and hundreds of well -paid trade union courses. When issuing their decision, the commissioners did not explain.

“Wombat Solar is a great dedication to the working families of Crawford County, and we are proud to collaborate with the other leading trading associations via a three -trading agreement to bring well -paid trade union courses to this community,” said Brian McPeek, company manager of Electrical workers. Developing will allow our employees here instead of leaving their families instead of leaving their families to see politicians.

Wombat Solar has signed the Ohio Three Trades Solar Agreement, which unites the Ibew, the International Union of Operating Engineers (Iuoe) and the Laborers International Union of Noord -America (Liuna). This agreement determines industrial standards for renewable energy, with priority on safety, community benefits and fair wages for employees.

“We do not give up. This decision makes it more difficult for Wombat to succeed, but it does not stop our support. We continue to fight for this project and others like it because they give our community a better chance of building long -term stability for our members and their families,” said Kip Siesel, company representative for Iuoe 18. “

“Wombat Solar gives us the chance to build the kind of future that our community leaves strong and self -reliant. It means that our members can earn a good bread without leaving the city. And it means that our children can look ahead and actually see a life for themselves,” said Jeff Sellers, business manager of Liuna Local 1216. Together. “
