Genneia, an Argentinian energy company, has announced plans to build 273 MW of PV across two projects in Mendoza Province, Argentina, with a combined investment of $250 million.

During a meeting with Mendoza Governor Alfredo Cornejo, company executives unveiled an investment plan that would be implemented within about a year. They announced plans to build a 93 MW project in the Malargüe department, with more than 160,000 PV modules spread over 312 hectares. The solar panels are expected to cost $90 million.

The other 180 MW project will be built in the Luján de Cuyo department. The $160 million “Parque Solar Anchoris” facility will feature 360,000 solar panels spread over 395 hectares.

The two projects are expected to provide clean energy to more than 160,000 homes. According to Genneia, the construction process will create approximately 1,200 jobs at its peak. Company already has 220 MW of solar energy at three locations in San Juan province. It also operates 784 MW of wind power.
