When people think of critical infrastructure, they tend to propose rail networks, hospitals or electricity networks. But one of the most essential everyday technologies is in almost every kitchen: the fridge. In contrast to Enlightenment, which can be replaced by candles in an emergency, cooling does not have an easy replacement. When the power goes out, food spoils quickly, medicines lose the effectiveness and subsistence means depending on selling cold drinks or ice. As climate change occurs more often and serious weather conditions, the resulting Black -outs and Brownouts are becoming more and more often in favor. Rasters who were…
Private investment company Ardian has concluded a final agreement to take over 100% of the Irish energy company Energia Group from I Squared Capital.Energia Group has been owned by I Squared, an infrastructure investor since 2016, and is active in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. It claims 17% of the total electricity needs of the island of Ireland and 20% of the total wind energy. The acquisition marks the first investment of Ardian in Ireland.Energia has some Ardian an “attractive pipeline of new wind, solar and battery energy storage capacity (BESS)”. In addition to more than 300 MW…
If community programs are successful for the community, why not try not to store from the community?
Since the start of the solar industry, people have tried to find out how they can make solar panels accessible to low incomes and historically disadvantaged communities. The obvious challenge is the cost barrier, which can at least be partially overcome by subsidies, net metet work programs, lease programs and cheap financing. But there are other obstacles that cannot be tackled so easily. For example, tenants have no possibility to install solar panels on the roof because they do not have their own roof, while landlords may not have an incentive to install solar energy if they are not responsible…
Portugal-based Chemite-Zonne-Zonne-Energie develops biodegradable cleaning and anti-sleepy products for PV panels that share land use with agricultural production.Chemitek Solar, a Portuguese manufacturer of cleaning and maintenance products of solar panels, has announced new solutions that have been developed for unique pollution -challenges of agrivoltaïschen, such as agricultural residues, limited accessibility, organic pollution and the presence of crops. “This new formulation, similar to our existing solar products, is certified for PV safety and is easily biodegradable. What makes it different is the ongoing study of the ecotoxicity of the residues after cleaning. This study includes the assessment of the influence of…
A recent report from battery intelligence company Accure shows that although most battery energy storage systems (BESS) work reliably, almost 19% of the projects experience a lower return as a result of technical problems and unplanned downtime. October 7, 2025 Marija Maisch By ESS news Bess quickly becomes a central factor in the global energy transition, but the sector is still confronted with considerable operational and financial risks that change the way in which assets are used and managed on a large scale. As a result, performance insights from practice are crucial for investors, developers and operators. The Accure Energy…
If you’ve opened your electricity bill recently and felt your heart skip a beat, you’re not alone. Across North Carolina and the entire United States, homeowners are experiencing sticker shock as their monthly energy costs continue to climb at an alarming rate. What once might have been a manageable $120 monthly bill has now ballooned to $180, $200, or even higher, and there’s no sign of relief on the horizon. Electricity rates have increased by more than 28% over the past decade, with some regions seeing even steeper jumps. This isn’t just a temporary fluctuation or seasonal adjustment, it’s a…
Terasol energy recently completed a Solar + storage project for Team Toyota van Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. The installation has an 820 kWh Fort Power Espire Commercial Energy Storage System combined with a 700-KW solar array. The new system helps Toyota to save more than $ 2 million in energy costs over the next 25 years, while the reliability and efficiency of its energy consumption is strengthened. “This project is a perfect example of what can be achieved when three companies come to Philadelphia team Toyota, Terasol Energies and Fortress Power compensation with a shared vision of clean, reliable energy,” said…
Researchers have tested a 9 x 11 floating box barrage for offshore photovoltaic in a large gulf stream, under regular and irregular golf seals. They have placed wireless gyroscopes on three of the boxes that represent the front, middle and back positions. October 7, 2025 Lior Kahana A research team from China has developed a new floating box array for offshore floating PV (FPV). A large, irregular, random gulf stream was used to measure increases and severe gears, along with the Responsamplitude Operator (RAO) for heavy and pitch. A floating box, in this research context, is a floating structural unit…
Rivington Energy, the parent company of UK Developer Renewable Connections, has obtained a 139 MW Co-located solar and BESS portfolio from operator grip reserve. The acquisition includes two ready-to-build (RTB) assets and a pre-RTB project, all of which are equipped with solar PV that are laid together with battery energy storage systems (BESS).The first location to be built is a 54 MW Zonne energy center, together with a 72 MWH Bess, in Scunthorpe, which will enter the construction in October of this year. Energy is expected in September 2026.Rivington Energy said that the other two projects are a 44 MW site…
Research from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has discovered that zinc-phosphate-hydrate (ZPH) films are able to produce electricity from the light. The photovoltage of the coating was reinforced when Anthocyanine, a natural dye in blackberries, was added. October 7, 2025 Patrick Jowett A research team from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) has discovered that zinc phosphatydrate (ZPH) films on metal create a photovoltaic effect. Their work is presented in the research paper ‘Manufacture and study of H2O-Recruited zinc phosphate films that are linked with organic dye and their photo detection characteristics”Available in the magazine Applied Physics Letters. The researchers wanted to…
