Noria EnergyA floating solar developer and technology supplier, starts with the construction of Aurea Solar, a 50-kw floating sun trial project in Golden, Colorado that will offer renewable energy for local activities for the usefulness of water. Built with Noria’s newly developed floating Solar Tracker technology, AquaphiThe project is on Fairmount Reservoir, a water storage reservoir that is owned and is managed by Consolidated Mutual Water Company (CMWC).

As the demand for energy and water grows nationwide, this floating solar technology changes the existing water infrastructure into energy -producing assets and also retains water by reducing evaporation.

The Golden Project is the first in the United States to use floating solar tracking technology on water. With the help of Noria’s Aquaphi technology, the pilot will feed on-site pumps that are used to regulate the water supply in the reservoir.

Today’s conventional floating sunsheels are static and do not follow the sun. Aquaphi lets floating tanning systems follow the sun by rotating the solar panels, which increases the energy output of the system with an estimated 10 to 20%, the company stated in a press release. Aquaphi can be used in new builds or added existing floating solar projects.

“We are pleased to go to the prospects of floating solar energy as a means to not only produce and retain energy, but also to improve our water supply by reducing how much evaporation is lost,” said Jarod Roberts, CMWC’s Chief of Water Resources.

Noria builds the project in collaboration with Grid alternatives And Hazelett Marine, a supplier of mooring solutions for floating solar energy.

“We could no longer be enthusiastic about working with our partners CMWC, grid alternatives and Hazelett to use our powerful technology that helps to make clean energy more accessible to more customers,” said Ron Stimmel, CEO of Noria CEO.

The 50 KW project is planned for commissioning in September 2025.
