Bulgarian tender prices Nearly 10 GWh of energy storage – PV Magazine International

The independent energy storage of Bulgaria, which aim was to obtain at least 3 GWH cumulative usable capacity, ultimately awarded more than three times that amount.

Bulgaria will finance 82 independent storage projects for renewable energy worth more than 1.15 billion Levs ($ 675 million) under the purchasing exercise funded by the EU called Restore.

The selected projects provide a total usable storage capacity of the energy of 9,712.89 MWh, the Ministry of Energy said on 17 April, more than three times the minimum target of 3 GWH originally determined by the tender.

The deadline for submitting project proposals was 5 December 2024. The Bulgarian Ministry of Energy announced on December 6 that it received 151 project proposals almost worth 5 billionthat far surpassed the available financing of BGN 1,154 billion.
