Chipotle Mexican Grill has concluded an agreement with Nexamp to take into account renewable energy bills to support the construction and operation of 15 new community sages that generate 75 MW in Illinois, New York, Maryland and Maine. According to the agreement, Chipotle Credits receives associated with 20 MW of the portfolio of projects, while the remaining 55 MW will make hundreds of thousands of savings to around 9,000 families, non-profit organizations and other companies on those markets.
By committing itself as a long -term subscriber for the credits generated by these projects, the investment of Chipotle makes the design, construction and completion possible, which means that the progress continues into the modernization and the low -carbon of the grid, while thousands of households help reduce their annual electricity costs. This initiative corresponds to the goal of Chipotle to have a real impact on communities, people and the planet, as well as the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to support the development of renewable energy.
“Some of the largest and most recognized brands of our nation consider Community -Zonne -Zonne -Energy as a crucial part of their environmental management strategies, often combined with solar energy, energy -efficiency and other programs that contribute to a holistic sustainability plan,” said Said Ashai, Ceo van Nexamp. “Chipotle promotes its leadership in this area by investing in solutions that will tackle both the climate crisis and provide long -term benefits for real individuals.”
In the course of this agreement, Chipotle saves up to around a quarter of a million dollars a year.
“As a brand on a mission to cultivate a better world, community zone projects are a winning solution to promote our sustainability efforts and at the same time having a real impact on individuals in communities throughout the country, many of whom are our guests,” added Laurie Safety Officer Affairs and Food Corporate.
E4, a consultancy for energy and sustainability in Chicago, helped with the transaction.
The construction of the projects in this portfolio is underway and all sites are expected to be online by 2026. Nexamp will build, possess and operate all projects.
