As part of the Columbia district ambitious PowerPath DC -InitiativeThe Public Service Commission has selected Ecosuity And Ecogy Energy To participate in a new pilot project aimed at unlocking the full potential of distributed energy sources (Ders) through advanced inverter and real -time grid interaction.
Announced on July 30, the Solar Aggregation and Advanced Inverter Pilot Project will test how a series of Ders -including solar pv, battery storage, flexibility of the building load and EV -chargers -can be digitally aggregated and managed to reduce the capacity of the Sun hosting and the costs of the costs of the costs and the costs of the costs.
“This pilot shows what is possible when open-source innovation meets the public policy and leadership of utilities,” said Joel Santisteban, CEO of Ecosuite. “We are pleased to show how flexible assets can be safeguarded safely to improve the reliability of the network and the lower costs in the district.”
Ecosuite and Ecogy
Ecosuite develops open-source software for integrating and optimizing Ders, and offers utility companies and asset owners real-time visibility and control. Ecogy Energy is a renewable energy developer with a national portfolio, aimed at community-oriented clean energy implementation.
Ecosuite will provide the digital infrastructure to enable safe, two-way communication and control of a network of Ecogie-Energie-ownership locations in Washington, DC The pilot will be carried out in close cooperation with Pepco, to keep the electrical use of the region, and supervise a management board with community, environmental and industrial interests.
PowerPath DC
The project is part of the wider DCPSC strategy to modernize the local network and at the same time enable low -carbon, energy capacity and reliability. By proving that advanced inverters and smart of the coordination can support the stability of the grid and reduce infrastructure costs, the pilot can help shape future grid planning and interconnection rules – not only in DC, but as a replexible model in other jurisdictions.
