EDF Wholesale Market Services offers Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Optimization and solar route-to-market services for green energy.

EDF signed an optimization agreement and contracts for Difference (CFD) Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for two co-led solar and storage facilities.

The 40MW Walpole Bank Solar Farm and 49.9 MW Cowley Solar Farm are both owned by Verdant Energy, a co-location of solar energy and BESS platform owned by CVC DIF, by partnerships with IB Vogt, Planning brought by Enso -Energy. Both are co-location with a 49.5 MW/99MWH Bess.

EDF’s optimization and trade agreements build on an existing partnership with CVC DIF.

At the beginning of 2024, EDF signed contracts to optimize renewable energy from the 50 MW Bess/66MWP Solar PV site in Warley, owned by IB Vogt and part of the DIF infrastructure VII portfolio.

At the time, the deal would represent the largest combined combined hybrid purchase and optimization agreements of the UK.

After the last two contracts, EDF said that it is the largest buyer of renewable electricity from Britain with the highest PPA market share under contract.

Earlier this month it signed one Long -term optimization agreement for two battery units on the 1.4GW/3.1GWH Thorpe Marsh project The largest Bess project of the UK is set in Yorkshire. EDF offers route-to-market services for two large battery units that offer 560 MW of the total storage capacity.
