Battery Energy Storage System (Bess) owner-operator EKU Energy has announced that it successfully confirmed two energy storage assets in England.

The two projects, the Loudwater Bess and the Basildon Bess, have a combined capacity of 68 MW/111MWH and are expected to be fully put into use according to Eku Energy “soon”.

The Loudwater Bess is located near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, has a capacity of 40 MW/55MWH. The project was announced in August 2023 and broke officially site in February 2024, almost a year exactly for this energy announcement.

In the meantime, the Basildon Bess in Essex has a capacity of 28 MW/56MWH, and both the early unveiling and the groundbreaking announcements were announced in combination with the Loudwater BESS project.

Bess -units for both the Loudwater and Basildon Bess developments were supplied by NHOA Energy and the energy of Mark Nhoa Energy in the British Bess market. Since he concerns the British market, NHOA Energy has pushed deeper into the Bess -Arena in the UK, and announced in June last year that the Statkraft would deliver to Bess units for a 113MWH project in Coylton, Scotland.

In a press release, an EKU energy representative stated: “EKU energy is deeply invested in the United Kingdom and is well positioned to push Bess the use to speed up the energy transition and promote energy breach. With the support of industry and its partners, Eku Energy will continue to deliver a more flexible and low -carbon network for cost -effective clean energy when and where necessary. “

This news marks a positive start for the British ambitions of Eku Energy after a milestone year in 2024 for the company. In September 2024, the company announced the complete commissioning of the Maldon Bess, located in Maldon, in the county of Essex, England.

The Maldon Bess, a 40MW/40MWH capacity Bess Asset, was an important milestone in the future of Eku Energy in the British Bess sector, because it was the first Eku Energy Bess project in the UK that could reach full commercial operation.

This project was delivered by Trina Storage, who will maintain and maintain the project for its operational lifespan. In addition, De Maldon Bess has successfully concluded a long-term market contract that has been traded by EDF, which recently announced the expansion of his own BES ambitions by plans to bring more than 300 MW BES capacity online in the coming 12 months .
