A study by European experts in the field of Zonne -Supply Chain into the production -efforts of Donghai Ja Solar, which was recently added to the UFLPA forbidden entity list by the Untied States, noted that the JA Solar daughter company -efforts in 2018 stopped. The group indirectly claims that the United States use outdated information.

JA Solar Manufacturing Operations in Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China.

The European Solar Stewardship Initiative (SSI) Board Quickly suspended membership of Ja Solar In his group after the US Dept. Or Homeland Security added Donghai Ja Solar Technology Co., Ltd. ready for his Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) entity list. The United States have added Donghai Ja Solar products to the list of prohibited goods because of the establishment of the US government that the company is taking Polysilicon from Xinjiang, an area in China, determined to use slave labor of the Uyghur People, an ethnic minority in The region. The UFLPA prohibits all imported goods directly from Xinjiang and those who use materials from Xinjiang.

SSI was formed as a supply chain insurance effort for the solar industry. The European group has established and uses standards to evaluate independent assessors to evaluate compliance with ESG criteria for companies that are active in the solar chain chain. SSI manufacturers are Astronergy, Canadian Solar, Ja Solar, Jinkosolar, Longi, Risen Energy and Trina Solar, together with a large number of buyers of solar panels throughout Europe. Membership is based on a commitment with SSI principles, not survived and certified supply chains. SSI has two working standards that do require certification, and so far Only Trina Solar has certified production sites under the ESG standard.

After suspended Ja Solar on January 15 from his membership, SSI investigated the company for nine days of 16-24 January 2025. The SSI completed a site visit to the Donghai Ja Solar Facility in Jiangsu Province, China; revise legal and contractual documentation with regard to the activities of Donghai JA Solar, including polysilicon contracts; And consulted with Ja Solar Senior Staff and Independent Solar Supply Chain Experts.

SSI discovered that the only production site that was owned by Donghai Ja Solar stopped in 2018. SSI also confirmed that Donghai Ja Solar has adapted his sourcing practices to the broader compliance obligations of JA Solar. Based on the outcome of the investigation and the conviction of the SSI that Donghai Ja Solar does not use materials from Xinjiang, the SSI council has lifted JA Solar’s temporary suspension of membership with immediate effect.

“The SSI board acknowledges that the vital role that historical reports have played in increasing the awareness of the risks of Supply Chain and stimulating improvements in environmental, social, governance (ESG) and traceability performance. Nowadays, the rapidly evolving ESG and traceability performance of the sun sector means that governments, institutions, investors and NGOs should rely on current data, ie no older than 12 months, and the publicly available policy management procedures of companies recognize, “the SSI board said in a declaration.
