Florida solar installer Advanced Green Technologies is now employee-owned

Advanced green technologies (AGT), a Florida-based commercial solar contractor founded in 2007, along with its parent company, Advanced Roofing Inc., have transitioned to an employee-owned organization.

AGT and its affiliated companies will maintain their leadership, human resources and operational practices through the transition to an employee-owned organization. AGT operates as the renewable energy division of Advanced Roofing, founded in 1983 and grown into a fully integrated commercial roofing, HVAC and solar services provider throughout Florida. The organization also includes Advanced Air Systems, founded in 1994. Today, the Advanced family of companies serves customers from seven locations in Florida and employs more than 750 people statewide.

The shift to employee ownership is in hopes of maintaining the company’s long-term sustainability as the commercial construction and renewable energy markets consolidate, the company said in a news release. In employee ownership scenarios, the organization’s board of directors is represented by the people who work at a company, and in the case of AGT, they are the ones responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining systems, and investing in their performance.

“Employee ownership reinforces our focus on accountability and long-term value,” said Rob Kornahrens, founder and CEO of the Advanced family of companies. “For Advanced Green Technologies customers, this means working with teams that have a direct interest in the quality, reliability and longevity of every solar system we deliver.”

AGT will continue to work with the same engineers, project managers, field crews and leadership teams, supported by established safety protocols and project delivery processes.

“Our approach may have evolved, but our mission has not,” said Kornahrens. “Advanced Green Technologies will continue to deliver reliable, cutting-edge solar energy solutions – now supported by a structure designed for longevity and responsibility.”
