According to the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur), Germany deployed approximately 1.28 GW of new PV capacity in June. This compares to 1.29 GW in May and 1.1 GW in June 2025.
Newly installed PV capacity for the first six months of this year amounted to 7.39 GW, a slight increase from around 8 GW in the same period a year earlier.
The country’s cumulative installed solar power, meanwhile, reached 125.2 GW at the end of June.
A detailed analysis for June shows little change compared to previous months, with capacity additions in April and May also remaining around 1.3 GW. Ground-mounted systems again accounted for the majority of new capacity, contributing 572.7 MW.
For rooftop systems, the Market Master Data Register recorded just under 32,400 new installations in June, with a combined capacity of 493.8 MW. While this figure is still below March levels, it could still rise significantly due to late registrations.
The Federal Network Agency also reported a decline in the number of registrations of plug-in solar energy devices in June. In total, almost 37,000 new plug-in PV systems with a combined capacity of 51.7 MW have been added. This brings the gross total of new rooftop installations registered in the first half of the year to over 185,000 systems, with a combined capacity of 3,186.4 MW.
For ground systems, the grid operator registered 1,002 new installations for a total of 4,010.4 MW.
