French company Dal’Alu has developed a high-capacity aluminum gutter designed to efficiently collect and channel rainwater from large roofs and solar panels. The on-site profiling, modular components and durable construction are said to ensure rapid installation, long-term performance and compliance with current construction standards.

The rapid growth of rooftop photovoltaic installations is dramatically changing rainwater management. By waterproofing and channeling surfaces, solar panels accelerate water drainage and increase its intensity. This creates a need for specialized drainage systems with high capacity and strong mechanical resistance.

With this in mind, French aluminum products supplier Dal’Alu has developed G500, a large profile trough that combines robustness, hydraulic efficiency and long-term durability. Made from carbon-free, fully recyclable aluminum for large footprint buildings, it has proven itself as a solution for large roofs, with more than 3,000 linear meters installed in just one year.

The G500 has been deployed on hundreds of projects across the country, including agricultural barns, industrial buildings, logistics warehouses, photovoltaic canopies and commercial buildings.

With a width of 457 mm and an effective cross-section of 200 cm², the G500 gutter can collect very large amounts of water, even during heavy rainfall. The structure, made of pre-coated 3000 and 5000 series aluminum with a thickness of 7/10 mm, is said to offer high resistance to corrosion, weather variations and point loads.

The G500 is profiled directly on site using a Dal’Alu workshop vehicle, ensuring fully custom fabrication without joints or welding. According to the manufacturer, this technology ensures a perfect fit, faster installation, no material waste and optimal linear water tightness. Internal spacer hooks are spaced every 50cm, in accordance with DTU 40.5, improving stability over long spans. Installation on metal rails is also possible.

The G500 system is certified to meet all current standards (RE 2020 and ICPE regulations) and is completely modular: downspouts up to Ø300 mm, flat or universal outlets, water boxes, elbows and reinforced end caps, all designed and manufactured in France. Optional accessories such as extruded aluminum dolphins, folded omega reinforcements and blade guards provide additional protection, especially in areas with dense vegetation or high traffic.
