Chinese PV module manufacturer and storage system supplier JA Solar has announced that it will change its name to JA.
The company says this move reflects its transition from a leading solar panel manufacturer to a fully integrated cleantech provider.
“Under the new JA Masterbrand, the company is structured around four key business groups: JA SOLAR (solar photovoltaics), JA ESS (energy storage solutions), JA GREEN (smart energy) and JA CAPITAL (financing). Together, these groups create an integrated ecosystem that provides customers with end-to-end solutions spanning energy generation, energy storage and optimization,” the manufacturer said in a statement.
The shift also reflects a broader industry trend that was recently highlighted pv magazine report on SNEC 2026 in Shanghai, where solar manufacturers are increasingly expanding up the value chain and into energy storage.
“From exporting products to building global capabilities and from a Chinese brand going global to a truly global brand, JA will leverage the synergies of its ecosystem to deliver integrated green energy solutions, working with partners from across the industry to co-develop technologies and expand markets,” said Liu Shuo, chairman of JA’s Brand and Marketing Center.
