The Chinese Modulemaker Jinkosolar has announced a new world record for N-Type Topcon-Zonne-Celefficiency, at 27.02%.

The result was confirmed by the National Photovoltaic Industries and Test Center (NPVM) of China.

The 182 mm N-type cell was developed by the entire subsidiary Zhejiang Jinkosolar Co.

The manufacturer said it used powerful techniques, such as metal-assisted metallization, premium emitter passivation and localized absorption contacts to increase cell efficiency. In October 2022, the efficiency of this device was still 26.1%.

By 2028, Jinkosolar expects to cross the threshold of 28%, said it in a recent white paper.

The company also announced that it has achieved a power conversion of 25.58% for a Topcon panel, where the result was certified by certification body Tüv Süd. This was achieved by integrating various innovations, including Inkapselingsfilm with a pattern, super multi-busbar (SMBB) interconnection and advanced reflective film designs, Jinkosolar said.

The panel producer intends to upgrade more than 40% of its production capacity this year, with the aim of reaching up to 50 GW high-efficient topcon-output by the end of 2025.

The newest top -cone modules from the company can deliver up to 670 w output, with a mass production module -efficiency of 24.8% and a bifaciality factor up to 85%.
