On July 11, Lodestar Energy held a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate its latest community sun project in New Windsor, New York. The 2.5 MWAC Project Op Moores Hill will provide approximately 350 houses in the city of Kingston renewable energy and offer residents environmental, social and economic benefits.

The event brought together the devoted team of Lodestar and important community partners, including mayor Steve Noble and Chief Sustainability Officer Julie Noble, together with representatives of the Mid-Hudson Energy Transition, a local non-profit, a local non-profit, a partner of a community. Their collaboration was crucial for the success of the project and the security of purchase in Kingston.

The Moores Hill Solar Project is part of the “Inclusive Community Solar Adder” program of New York, which stimulates community projects for the community for subscribers with low to moderate incomes and subordinated communities. The program enables Lodestar to collaborate with the city of Kingston to deliver its clean energy benefits to both the municipality and the local residents. In addition to reducing carbon emissions, this project supplies tax revenues and lower utility signs for LMI residents in Kingston, making clean energy affordable and accessible for all members of the community.
