Li Zhenguo, president of the Chinese PV manufacturer Longi, has resigned to concentrate on research and development, referring to personal work schemes.
Li Zhenguo, the president of the Chinese PV manufacturer Longi, has resigned from his position.
“The dismissal of Li Zenguo is mainly due to his personal work schemes,” a company spokesperson said PV -Magazine. “After his resignation, he will continue to serve as President of the Central R&D Institute of the company and the Chief Technology Officer of the Technology Management Center, and he will be in charge of the company’s R&D and technology management work.”
The spokesperson said that Zhong Baoshen will serve as both general manager and legal representative of the company after the leadership change, in accordance with the “Company Act” and its internal association. Zhong will supervise production and management, while Li will concentrate on product -r & d and new technology development.
Before he resigned as president, Li said that he is firmly convinced that no way to the transition to return contact (BC) solar module technologies has returned.
“The physics principle is simple: gratifying lines in the front,” he said. “By moving electrodes to the back, BC cells eliminate shadow losses, stimulating efficiency … There is no scenario in which BC technology could fail because we will pursue superior solutions and newer technological breakthroughs.”
He acknowledged that although the first generation of BC products have achieved technical goals over the past seven to eight years, tunneloxide-passivated contact (topcon) technologies faster and initially BC seem less competitive.
“Through continuous research and research, however, our BC products from the second generation have now become adults and better performed,” Li concluded. “Future iterations will result in even higher efficiency.”
He also argued that Perovskite-Silicon Tandem technologies are still ‘immature’ because the feasibility of technical engineering remains unproven.
