Maryland Energy Administration opens subsidy finance for university solar projects

The Maryland Energy Administration has today announced the availability of $ 8 million to help install the higher education institutions in higher education on solar energy systems. Through the Higher Education Clean Energy ProgramThe agency wants to create sustainable, energy-efficient campuses that serve as practical learning environments and hubs for education for renewable energy and creating jobs.

Now in the second year, the tax year 2026 Higher Education Clean Energy Program subsidies for solar installations, clean energy at campus level and planning of sustainability, curriculum development and staff training in the university and universities of Maryland.

“Higher education institutions are engines of innovation and progress, whereby the next generation of leaders, researchers and professionals are willing to shape our future. They represent the advanced technology and learning, and their campuses can serve as living laboratories for the ideas helping society,” said Paul G. Pinsky, Maryland Director. “By investing in the curricula of clean energy and sustainability, Maryland positions its colleges and universities to lead the transition to a declared future.”

This year’s program offers a maximum of $ 1 million for solar installation, $ 145,000 for Campus Clean Energy Master Planning and extra bonuses for the development of the Clean Energy sector and student internships.

The agency now accepts applications until November 14 at 3 p.m.
