Dutch solar PV manufacturer MCPV has received approval for a subsidy of € 10 million for the construction of a 2.5 GW Solar Module factory in Tudela, in the Spanish region of Navarra, told the CEO of the company, Marc judge, to PV Magazine.

“This is a good amount to start the first phase. A local team dedicated to the project will be established later this year,” he added.

The subsidy belongs to a provisional allocation of € 297.3 million announced in March by the Spanish Ministry of Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (Miteco). It falls within the renewal program under the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (Idae). The selected projects are considered essential for the sector of the Spanish renewable energy.

Last year MCPV announced € 4.2 million ($ 4.6 million) to government support of the National Growth Fund in the Netherlands for a 4 GW solar cell factory built in Vendam, the Netherlands.

The company, which a Silicon Heterojunction (HJT) technology -route map has, expects that both factories will be fully operational according to Remberhter. The construction of the cell factory is planned for the end of 2026 and a year later in the module factory. Allowing activities were started at both locations.

Leader stated that the “speed of implementation and timelines will depend on the strength of the implementation of the European Regulatory Framework”, including the Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) and the new measures under the Clean Industrial Deal, because they will “influence the investor Empetite for European Netto industrial trajectories.”
