Lhyfe has opened its first hydrogen plant outside France in Germany, while the Hamburg Green Hydrogen Hub is planning a 100 MW electrolyzer at the former Moorburg coal site.

Lhyfe opened its first commercial production site in Germany, its fourth production site and the first outside France. “On a one-hectare plot of land in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Lhyfe has installed a factory that can produce up to 4 tons of renewable hydrogen per day (installed capacity of 10 MW). This hydrogen, produced via the electrolysis of water the use of renewable energy should be used to decarbonise heavy mobility and industry.” said the French company. To secure the supply of renewable electricity, Lhyfe has signed PPAs with producers in Germany, including EDPR.

The Hamburg green hydrogen hub (HGHH) is building a 100 MW electrolysis plant for green hydrogen on the site of the former Moorburg coal-fired power station. “Once the building complex has done that completedthe start of work is scheduled for early 2026, for the purpose of commissioning This will enable Kraftanlagen to lay the essential foundations for the integration of Siemens Energy’s 100 MW electrolyzer into the site,” the HGHH said in an emailed note from a consortium of the two partners Luxcara and Hamburger Energiewerke. The site should produce 10,000 tons of green hydrogen annually.

Hynamics Germany‘S web page appears to have been removed, supporting reports suggesting that EDF’s subsidiary has ceased operations in Germany. According to Hydrogen InsightHynamics Deutschland has been closed and liquidated. pv magazine has attempted to contact Hynamics and EDF, but has yet to receive confirmation or comment.

Centrica And National Gas have completed a trial, which is the first time hydrogen has been used has been blended in the National Transmission System (NTS) in the United Kingdom. “The trial took place last week [on 9 October] and involved National Gas injecting a 2% blend of green hydrogen into the gas network, before mixing it with natural gas to generate power at Centrica’s Brigg Power Station, producing electricity directly into the grid,” the British energy company said. Centrica and National Gas are urging the UK government to make a strategic policy decision hydrogen mixtures of up to 5%.

Longi hydrogen Unveiled HyBlock, a modular outdoor solution designed for green hydrogen facilities from one hundred megawatts to gigawatts, and a HySmartan O&M platform purpose-built for hydrogen production facilities. “Working indoors synergythe two solutions help customers achieve more competitive and sustainable hydrogen production,” said Longi, adding that HyBlock can deliver up to 35% savings on capital investment and a 40% reduction in total lead time, while reducing installation work by 65%. Longi reportedly also received approvals to build a 1 GW alkaline electrolyser plant in China, that’s why reach a capacity of 3.5 GW.
